Hazardous Goods by Sea - IMDG

IMDG Code (The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code) is the worldwide standard for shipping hazardous materials or dangerous goods by sea.
The Carriage of dangerous goods and marine pollutants in sea-going ships is respectively regulated in the International Convention for the Safety of the Life at Sea (SOLAS) and the International Convention for the Prevention of pollution from Ships (MARPOL). We are able to provide full consultancy in relation to all aspects of transporting Dangerous Goods by sea. The company is  authorized by Slovenian Ministry of Transport for inspections of IMDG cargoes on board of sea going vessels and issuing of relevant documents. (Dangerous Goods Transportation Act – published in the January 1, 2000; Slovenian Gazette  No. 79/1999 with Ammendments no. 96/2002, 2/2004 , 101/2005, 33/2006, 41/2009, 97/2010 )

The IMDG Code requires that that Shore-based personnel engaged in the transport of dangerous goods intended to be transported by sea shall be trained in the contents of dangerous goods provisions commensurate with their responsibilities. Employees shall be trained in accordance with the provisions of  IMDG Code before assuming responsibilities and shall only perform functions, for which required training has not yet been provided, under the direct supervision of a trained person.
